MaThi stands for Magalir Thittam, a Tamil Nadu government initiative created to empower women through entrepreneurship. But in Tamil, MaThi also means “mind.” That dual meaning shaped the spirit of the brand—where policy meets instinct, and structure meets everyday wisdom.
We began with a cultural truth: every morning, across Tamil homes, Kolams are drawn. Not just as decoration, but as daily acts of presence, resilience, and ritual. Each Kolam starts with scattered dots—and through rhythm and intent, reveals something whole.
That became our metaphor. MaThi connects the dots—across women, villages, crafts, and industries—building something larger than the sum of its parts.
The identity draws from Kolam geometry. Its looped mark stands for continuity, community, and possibility. Every pack features hand-drawn portraits of real women—grounded and proud. The colour palette is drawn from craft. The typography is clean. The voice is sharp and culturally aware.
MaThi isn’t just made by women.
It’s designed to honour them—clearly, quietly, and powerfully.
